Forks & Corks 2019 Grand Tasting Event Rescheduled to May 5th
OUTDOOR EVENT RESCHEDULED DUE TO SEVERE INCLEMENT WEATHER
WHO: The Sarasota-Manatee Originals and its annual Forks & Corks Grand Tasting event
Prompted by the increasing certainty of severe weather conditions, tomorrow’s (Jan. 27) 2019 Forks & Corks Grand Tasting
Event has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 5th
. All other Forks & Corks events scheduled throughout the weekend will proceed as scheduled. All Grand Tasting ticket holders will be contacted via email within the next two weeks with details for the May 5th event.
“It is with deep regret that we are rescheduling our Grand Tasting event, but out of concern for guest safety, security and especially the enjoyment of our guests, our board voted unanimously to reschedule to Sunday, May 5th,” said Beth Owen-Cipielewski, board president of The Sarasota-Manatee Originals. “We know how hard our restaurants have worked and value the commitment of our winemakers who have traveled to the Suncoast area from around the globe.”
“We’ve been watching the deterioration of our local weather with heavy hearts, hoping for the best, but significant changes over the last 48 hours made this difficult decision necessary,” said Michael Klauber, Forks & Corks Event Co-Chair. “Rescheduling to this date in May gives us the best opportunity to provide our guests with the extraordinary experience they’ve come to expect from a Sarasota-Manatee Originals event.”
The Grand Tasting Event features more than 350 wines from across the globe – all hand-selected and professionally tasted, judged and recognized as medal winners – and culinary creations from members of the Sarasota-Manatee Originals. A retail tent is also available, where patrons can purchase various varietals, making it one of the few festivals in the Southeast providing a chance to purchase the showcased wines on-site during the event.
WHERE: The rescheduled Grand Tasting Event will take place May 5 at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, as originally planned (5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota).
